I bought this to replace a Camp hatchet that I made a few years ago, which was lost. When it arrived. The handle was loose on the head. It was bad, to the point it would rattle when you shook it in your hand. I went to attempt to tighten it on the head however, there is not enough wood left, and the handle was shaped too small from the factory to fit snug. So I had to take the handle off and replace it. In the process of taking it off, I noticed that the edge on it had about a half inch crack in it, most likely from tempering. So I ended up having to cut a half inch off of the cutting edge to remove the stress crack. That being said you’re better off just building your own because that’s basically what I’m doing with this one.

This hatchet is an awesome cooperation for small wood. I love it, I have used this hatchet several times cutting limbs and the edge is still sharp. The handles is comfortable but could use something to prevent slipping in hand. But overall this is a great hatchet to have.

The blade geometry is pretty bad, regrinding the whole thing by hand. Handle is pretty uncomfortably chunky, reshaped the whole thing. Normally cheap tools take a, little this kind of work, but even after all this work it's a poor chopper, doing a more extensive blade reprofiling... Probably should have just bought a nicer one, but the goal was to get a cheap set of tools to do the job(spoon and kuska carving)

The other tools have worked quite well after a good sharpen, and sanding the polish off the handles, this one needs the most work. Not impressed with the blade hardness either.

I got the Prandi for a few bucks more instead, and it's a dream. A sweet little axe after I cleaned it up.
